The redevelopment of the former Goodlet and Smith Brickworks into a medium density residential estate required great sensitivity and careful planning to incorporate existing heritage structures, kilns and chimneys, an adjoining district park, natural creek line, residential precincts and remediated fill areas into the design. Adaptive re-use of these structures for community purposes and interpretation of the site’s industrial heritage was key to the success of the project.
