Sydney Olympic Park - Homebush Bay NSW
In the lead up to the 2000 Olympics, CLOUSTON associates were involved in a number of significant projects on the Olympic Site. We prepared a conservation management Strategy for the Newington Armaments Depot, which was to become the Olympic Village. We developed the pathway hierarchy and design language for parklands network and this was applied to the extensive terrestrial revegetation project for the 1.5km Hill Road Corridor.
We prepared a strategic masterplan framework to take Bicentennial Park into the 21st Century as a world class park and to coordinate its management and strategy with Olympics and the future Sydney Olympic Park. Pre Olympic work included a wayfinding and signage strategy, and new accessible ramps linking the Olympic site with Strathfield West rail station.
Significant projects post Olympics included the Powells Creek Bridge link regional Cycle way, the Bicentennial Park Fishway, additional shelters for the field studies centre, and redevelopment of car park 5 including interpretive boardwalks and sculpture. Most recently we have been working on Wilson Park.
