AND THE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE GOES TO............ - 16/12/2010
It is always gratifying to receive an award, and none more so than one bestowed by your peers, such as the AILA Award for Excellence in Landscape Architecture which is granted only for outstanding achievement in any of the four entry categories of Design, Planning, Land Management and Research & Communication.
CLOUSTON is delighted to have been awarded the 2010 AILA NSW Award for Excellence in Planning for the Clarence River Way Masterplan which, in the words of the jury, "sets new development and infrastructure goals for the region and seeks to position the Clarence as one of the nation's best river experiences".
The jury recognised not only the level of research undertaken for the project but also the clarity of vision and the inclusion of targets to measure and monitor success, ensuring "the temporal relevance of this plan and that it will be a well-thumbed document into the future".
CLOUSTON would like to acknowledge our co-consultant on this project, Kym Shilton of SGL Consulting, for her very valuable contribution, as well as Southern Cross University for their visitor surveys, and Clarence Valley Council for their commitment to the plan.
Flow - on projects are already underway, and we are excited to be preparing a masterplan for the major revitalisation of the Grafton Riverfront which aims to make use of an undervalued river asset and encourage tourism to the Clarence Valley.
We also extend our congratulations to all other category nominees and winners of this year’s AILA awards.
