Eager Re-cyclists Power Up with Pedalling

RE-CYCLE! - BY POPULAR REQUEST - 8/6/2011

When CLOUSTON's interactive light art installation CYCLE! was not voted People's Choice in the inaugural VIVID Festival in 2009 in spite of its obvious popularity, we admit to having felt a tinge of disappointment. However, Events NSW loved the artwork so much that they asked us back to be part of the 2011 festival. So always happy to accommodate, we dusted off the equipment and RE-CYCLE! was re-built to ride again!

This year's VIVID incorporates over 40 stunning light sculptures, 24 of which have been curated by former Meinhardt engineer, Mary-Anne Kyriakou, around the theme of Fiat Lux – Let there be Light. RE-CYCLE! has a new location in First Fleet Park, affectionately dubbed 'Interactive Alley' by festival organizers as it also houses artworks such as Immersion that reflects your movement through the installation via a live video relay of still and dynamic images, aLf: (artificial Light form) - an artificial biomorphic entity that glows when you physically interact with him and our personal favourite, Interactive Paint Projection, which interprets your body movements to project huge, colourful splashes, drips and spirals onto the façade of the MCA.

If you haven't already made it down to the Festival, there’s still time!
VIVID LIGHT runs from 6.00pm until 12.00am each night until Monday 13th June. Come over and say 'Hi' – we look forward to seeing you there.
